A Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Ruth,
My journey with fitness and wellbeing hasn’t always been smooth or glamorous. A few years ago, I was struggling with post-viral fatigue syndrome, a bad back from sciatica, and at the time, undiagnosed PCOS. I was constantly exhausted, in pain, and gaining weight no matter how little I ate. I was miserable and disconnected from my own life.
I remember the exact moment I decided to make a change. I was in the bath, feeling like a beached whale (I wasn’t kind to myself back then), and I thought, Is this it? Is this what my life is going to be like? Am I just existing instead of living? That was the turning point. Everything had to change.
I began advocating for myself—getting the medical treatment I needed, learning which foods truly nourished my body instead of just feeding my cravings, and slowly, one day at a time, adding movement back into my life. It wasn’t perfect. I made plenty of mistakes along the way. But each one taught me something, and gradually, I gained confidence in what my body could do. Over a few years, I lost 25kg of fat and dropped five clothing sizes—but more importantly, I regained my energy, strength, and sense of self.
It was through this journey that I realised my true passion: helping others feel empowered in their bodies. Becoming a personal trainer allowed me to combine my experience, empathy, and knowledge into coaching that’s realistic, compassionate, and effective. I specialise in supporting women over forty to reconnect with their strength, build sustainable habits, and embrace wellbeing without guilt or extremes.
I embrace body neutrality: your worth isn’t tied to your weight, shape, or age. My goal is to help you move, eat, and live in a way that makes you feel capable, energised, and confident every day. Whether it’s carving out time for movement, restoring energy after years of stress, or learning to see exercise and nutrition as tools for empowerment rather than punishment, I’ll guide you every step of the way. Together, we’ll create a programme that fits your life, honours your body, and helps you feel strong, resilient, and fully alive—inside and out.
